A Tilly Lamp
It is a modern version
of an old light.
It is highly flammable
Daddy purchased it
a few years ago when
there were lots of power cuts.
There is methylated spirits inside
the base of the globe.
You can take off the globe to clean it.
There is a wick inside it.
Be careful you don't break it!!

An old clay pipe

I brought in an old clay pipe.  It belongs to my Granda, Charlie  Whyte.  It was found in the field.  It is a pale brown colour.  People  used clay pipes long ago.

Other items that  were brought in included: Butter Churn, Old kettle, Old Irons, Branding  Iron, Weighing Scales, Butter Spades, Glass Butter Churn and A Tri Hook.
A Crook
A crook would have  been used long ago for holding up pots above the fire. There were no  ranges or stoves in the olden days. The crook would hang from a chain  which was hanging down from the top of the fireplace. A crook could hold  a lot of pots. To make the food cook quicker the crook would be lower  on the chain. To let the food cook slower the crook would be higher up  on the chain.
