Butter
A lovely lady came  to our school on the 6/2/12, her name is Elizabeth.  She made  scrumptious yellow butter out of pure Irish cream and a little bit of  salt.  It took about 20 minutes to make, after that all of us had some  butter with yummy for your tummy biscuits.  She brought old things in  with her  like a quilt, bridle for the donkey, a very old lamp they used  long ago and she told us interesting stories she heard and knows about.

Making Butter

Today the 6th of February   Elizabeth from the heritage scheme visited our school.  First of all we  were going to make butter.  She talked about how to make butter.  She  was using the glass churn.  She also had another type of churn.  It took  a long time but it tasted lovely.  After we made the butter she showed  us antiques.  She had many old things.  At the end she talked about farm  safety.

Making Butter
On the 6th of February a woman  came to our school to show us how to make butter. She started off by  pouring cream into the churn and then she started mixing it with the  butter churn. It took about half an hour to stir it. Then she washed the  butter and added some salt. When she had finished shaping the butter we  got a taste of it. Nearly everybody thought it was better than shop  butter. The women also showed us old clothes and other artefacts  from  the olden days. She talked about farm safety at the end. by Ronan
